Jason Works Autumn Workshop

Sunday 8th November
TBC
Jason Works, Duke Street, Loughborough, LE11 1ED

Make your own solid silver ring using the traditional lost-wax casting process in this relaxed, hands-on autumn workshop at Jason’s Works Loft in Loughborough. I’m Edith, a jewellery designer and maker based in Leicestershire, working under my studio practice For Edith. In this hands-on session, I’ll guide you through carving your own ring design, exploring shape, texture and surface detail with supportive one-to-one guidance throughout. You’ll begin with a 5mm thick piece of jeweller’s wax, choosing from a selection of shapes and styles. I will show you how to measure, size, carve and refine your ring, gradually transforming your initial idea into a wearable form. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have created a finished wax model of your ring, ready to be professionally cast in solid silver, hallmarked and finished by hand with either a high-polish or satin finish. The workshop will take place in the beautiful open-plan space at Jason’s Works, a characterful loft-style venue within a fully refurbished listed Victorian building in Loughborough. It’s a relaxed and inspiring setting to spend a few hours making something completely your own. Your finished silver ring will be posted back to you approximately 3–4 weeks after the workshop. These workshops are an accessible and creative introduction to jewellery making, with no previous experience needed, just curiosity and a love of making.
